Ways of Seeing Experience - Friday 13th December 2024 2-4 pm
In this experience we’re going to explore together different ways of seeing the world through a creative lens, looking “behind the scenes” of how the artistic mind works. Creativity can lead to us feeling happier, turn our thoughts and feelings into new and original things which are just for ourselves and connect us more meaningfully to the world around us.
Your experience leader: Ian Scott Massie
I am a musician, artist and poet and, through these different strands, I‘ve found enjoyment and meaning in my life. This has come about through developing a way of seeing which has led to a happy and long, creative career. As an artist my work deals with focusing on many of the concepts covered in this experience. My books of poetry and my songs are similarly rooted in developing ways of creatively regarding the world around me.
The Ways of Seeing Experience will include:
- Observing colour, light, objects, texture and pattern
- Looking at the beauty of a personal possession
- Using photography to understand how we see the world
- How we can create “nests for magic” using light, colour and shapes
- Editing our impressions and focusing on the important
- Seeing beyond reality to the spirit of places
- Finding our own ways of seeing
What You’ll Need To Bring:
- A notepad and pencil
- Clothes suitable for indoors and outdoors
- A smartphone with a camera
- An open mind
