Storytelling with Shonaleigh 18/3/23 7.30 - 9.30 pm - online via Zoom
An evening with storyteller Shonaleigh who'll be telling A Garment for the Moon
Travel back to a world where the sun and moon feel sorrow and shame, and a humble tailor can journey between worlds to make a gown as glorious as a skyful of stars. A Garment for the Moon is a traditional Jewish story, told by Shonaleigh from family tradition, as remembered and taught by her bubbe (grandmother) Edith Marks. Set in the very beginning of time, it follows Meyer the tailor, tasked with creating a dress for the Moon to console her in her sorrow. But the Moon waxes and wanes, from new to full and back through the four quarters, once a month, every month - and everyone knows how hard it is to get a good fitting.
