Want to experience all the tips and tricks of creating a great collage under expert guidance? You don't need to be able to draw or wield a paintbrush.
You'll experiment with different materials and techniques and go away with a good understanding of the medium and plenty of resources to draw on. Collage has existed for as long as there has been paper. It became popular in the 1950’s when it was accepted into mainstream modern art with artists such as Picasso and Braque. Today collage is still used as an outsider/rebel art form as you can destroy old material to make new, play with scale and size and change meaning. |
Event details:
Adventures In Collage takes place over 2 hours at the Happy House in Masham, North Yorkshire. The experience is led by Josie Beszant, a collage artist of long experience, recently featured in the book '50 Essential Collage Artists by Rebecca Elizegi'.
This will work equally well with either for one person or a small group, and all the concepts behind collage will be illustrated by a wide variety of examples.
The experience will take place in the inspiring surroundings of the Music Room of the Happy House.

Please be aware: the building is home to 2 cats. Although they will not have access to the room we are working in they may be in the communal areas. Please let us know if this could be a problem for you or any of your group.
