Ways of Seeing
In this experience we’re going to explore together different ways of seeing the world through a creative lens, looking “behind the scenes” of how the artistic mind works. Creativity can lead to us feeling happier, turn our thoughts and feelings into new and original things which are just for ourselves and connect us more meaningfully to the world around us. |
Your experience leader: Ian Scott Massie
I am a musician, artist and poet and, through these different strands, I‘ve found enjoyment and meaning in my life. This has come about through developing a way of seeing which has led to a happy and long, creative career. As an artist my work deals with focusing on many of the concepts covered in this experience. My books of poetry and my songs are similarly rooted in developing ways of creatively regarding the world around me. Photo: Steve Christian |
Event Details
This experience isn’t designed to turn you in to a painter, poet or musician - just to explore different ways of seeing. There’ll be quite a few ideas to think about and some exercises we'll do to help get to grips with these ideas. We’ll look together at some of the processes I use looking at the world as as a painter and how those appear in my paintings and look at how we can develop different ways of seeing that might lead to happiness.
We'll meet at The Happy House Masham, have a cup of something and begin by discussing the basic elements of singing. In the course of three hours we’ll discuss, experiment and undertake practical exercises to explore the idea of Ways of Seeing. This will all take place in a relaxed, calm atmosphere
The Ways of Seeing Experience will include:
