Yoga For Relaxation & Sleep with Frayah Humphries
Yoga Nidra is the yoga of sleep, sadly that doesn’t mean an hour snooze! The state of relaxation we reach during yoga nidra is the state just before sleep where the mind is particularly receptive.
It is a systematic method which aims to create complete physical mental and emotional relaxation. The practice aims to moves the conscious mind from beta waves the awake alert rhythm to alpha waves, the start of the falling to sleep rhythm. Placing the individual in the state between waking and dreaming. The techniques of breath awareness and systematic relaxation of muscles activates the parasympathetic nervous system where the heart rate slows and we enter a state of safety and security. It is a wonderful practice for stress relief and creating an overall feeling of calm. You will spend the session lying in deep meditation facilitated by Frayah. So all there is to do is get comfortable and enjoy the relaxation. |
